From Macro to Micro Experience
I created this course in 2013 and, over the years, it has become my signature course. It has taken me around the world, where students from different backgrounds have embarked with me on this two-day learning and hands-on experience! Welcome to the FMTM experience!

From Macro to Micro aims to develop didactics, motivation, and communication in odontology, exploring shapes, textures, and natural colors.
DAY 1
Module I
Standardizing Concepts
• Understanding dental macro_photography: Ideal management for bdental macro photography.
• Presentation of photographic equipment: Cameras, lenses, flashes band accessories.
• Compatibility, cost and benefit.
• Adaptations for more macro.
Module II
photography or smil
with SLR cameras
• Lighting and technique with continuous light and flashes.
• Management of light modifiers
• Capture lips in artistic mode.
DAY 2
Module III
Dental Macro-photography with SLR cameras
• Management of macro-flashes and light modifiers.
• Shade communication between clinic and laboratory.
• Capture of the microtexture and optical effects.
• Dental photography from life-size 1: 1 (1x) to 3:1 (3x).
Module IV
• Micro-photography with focus-stacking
• Cross polarization
• Digital image management
• Macro-photography in the dental laboratory: capture of ceramic and metal small elements.
• Birefringence of enamel: Light and filters
Equipment requirement
• SLR digital camera with blank card
• Lip separators
• Photographic mirrors – rhodium plated
• Black contrasters
• Tripod
• External flashes: ring, speedlight or twin
• The WorkBook (Optional course resource)
The course provides 3 high-power external flash units
* Participants who do not have a camera or equipment are free to take the course to learn about the monetary value and the use of the course, so they can choose the equipment that meets their technical needs.
Each group that participates in the course is independent. The courses are given in rented offices, for example, a hotel conference room. The cost of the course is on a sliding scale between 500 and 1000 Euros. For most participants, the course proves very useful. Please contact a course organizer for more information.
